Rainy Day Activities
When it rains...
So we had a pretty rainy and yucky weekend so I was trying to find some indoor activities for the kids.
Grace finished painting her bird house, and I decided to take the boys and her downstairs to play in her school room.
I took some sand out of her sandbox that's outside and put it in a plastic bin. I put the indoor sandbox on some plastic trash bags for easy cleanup. Then I put some of the boys' trucks in there as well as the counting stones I painted earlier. In the floral section at Walmart are different sizes of stones and I bought the largest size so my boys wouldn't be tempted to eat them. I brought them home and painted the numbers 1-10 on them.
The boys had so much fun in their big sister's school room. They especially loved her musical instruments and books. I don't know why I hadn't thought to take them down there before.
Here are a few more photos of the indoor sand box.
Shoe Box Play
I usually throw out shoe boxes, but this time I wanted to see what fun things we could do with them. My twins are 19 months so they are easily entertained just with the boxes themselves. Hide some toys in them and they were occupied for a good while.
Grace decided to paint hers and make planter boxes out of them.
You can make little dollhouses, purses, guitars, wall hangings, shadowboxes, or use them as containers for pretty much anything. The boys even had fun stacking them like blocks.

These are my twins Jude & Liam. They are 19 months and into everything! They definitely melt this mama's heart though :)
